About Us
Nexus is a nonprofit intermediary that works at the intersection of authorship, leadership and ownership. One of our focus areas is supporting community members in developing real estate cooperatives. Our services support alignment between multiple stakeholders for project success, and include cooperative governance design and pre-launch technical assistance.
We cultivate leaders, advance community ownership, and build the power of communities to create equitable and liberated futures.

Supporting the development of cooperatives, real estate co-ops, and other shared ownership models that build community control and keep wealth local.
North Star Black Cooperative Fellowship
North Star brings worker-owners of Black-led cooperatives together, grounded in the history of Black cooperative economics in the US, to build more powerful and engaged communities.
Open Road Fund
A community fund giving wealth-building gifts to Black folks in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota in order to create tangible pathways to liberation, prosperity, and healing.
